Keep in mind, it's a three player keeper league, so alot of the big talent is off the board by the first round, it's like starting in round 4 of a regular draft. Performance type league, no crazy scoring stuff. Grabbed Turner so early because I think Tomlinson is due for a breakdown and my main rival in my division has him, plus who knows where he will go next year.

Anyhow, good or bad, what do you think?

Andre Johnson in the third round of a keeper. I don't care how many teams there are, that is just silly. I would have taken him before Bulger and Norwood, your first two picks.

I would love to see the entire draft results.

12 team...I had the first pick, so Andre Johnson was there on the way down for me, so he was #25.

WRs picked before that pick...TO, C. Johnson, Housh, J. Walker, Boldin, Colston, Driver...then I picked Johnson 4 picks later. After that, the next 7 of 11 were WRs.

I'll assume a starting lineup of 1-2-2-1-1-1. Other than TE, your starters are solid. Your QB's scare me when Bulger gets hurt. You have enough keepers (current and potential) that I'd probably try to trade Turner to your rival in an effort to upgrade your TE or depth at QB. He's likely worthless this year and like you sadi, who knows where he'll go next year.

You ended up with a decent number 2 WR but I still think you would have been better much off going with Johnson or TO with the first pick and waiting on a QB. I think Miller could be a decent TE but that's definitely your weakest spot and I'm not sure how I feel about Bironas as your kicker but after all, it is just a kicker.

Other than that, I would have to see the other teams to really get a feel for how you did. Overall I would expect that you should be pretty good for the year but could have been much better.

Yeah, I'm not too happy about my TE, but he was the best that was left out there when I picked him up. There are a couple others I'm watching on the waiver wire, but not really anyone stellar. Think I'm going to hold onto Turner for a while, just have a gut feeling that LT is due for a breakdown.

With my QBs, I just thought Bulger gave me a more consistent score week to week than Johnson or TO would and I still got Johnson...if they find a second reciever, he should do some damage. QBs that went after that and before my next pick were Romo, V. Young, Kitna. So I think I got the last of the top with the Bulger pick. I also think Jake had a bad year last year and will do better and Leftwich was a late flyer, his new OC is a pass happy fool from ASU and Boise St before that...I think he might sneak up and have a good year this year...plus he's playing for a new contract with the Jags or someone else.

I worded mine poorly in that I think you should have taken Chad Johnson or TO instead of Bulger. Andre is an ok consolation prize for a #2 WR but I would rather have CJ or TO and Hasselbeck or some other similar QB than Bulger and Andre. Week in and week out I think you would be better off but I guess time will tell.

It really sounds to me like your league over values QBs and you could have done much better waiting. Since you didn't list them as drafted between your picks I assume Manning, Brees, Brady and Palmer were all kept. Then given that Bulger, Romo, Young and Kitna all went in the 1st/2nd round (4th/5th given the 3 keepers), that's 2/3's of the league with a QB by the end of effectively the 5th round.

That means that you could have gotten CJ/TO, still had Andre and and Norwood as your #3's AND gotten a Cutler, Leinhart, Rivers, etc as your QB. You would have lost no more than 2 or 3 ppg tops at QB, gained at least those same 2 to 3 ppg (or more) at WR, had better depth at WR AND gotten a better TE with your 6th pick.

Again, I don't know what all transpired in the other rounds to know who was still there at TE, etc but I bet you would have at least 3 to 5 ppg more projected average of your starters and had better backup players, particularly at WR, which can make a huge difference.

I hear you man, that's a good way to look at it too. Manning, Brees, Brady and Palmer were all keepers...we'll see how it goes...maybe I'll eat a shit sandwich come the middle of the season when TO and Johnson have six TDs and 700 yards!

Thanks for the advice.

I don't mean to be completely busting on you and sorry if it comes off that way. This was my suggestion in your thread before the draft. I'm just trying to show you why I was thinking what I was. I like Bulger I just don't think he's worth that much over the 10-12th QB where I think someone like TO or CJ is worth quite a bit more than the 15th or so WR. Also, earlier I left Hasselbeck out of my list meaning that 9 of 12 teams actually had QBs by the time that all teams had 5 players on the roster. That's a lot of QBs for a normal scoring league with only 1 starting QB IMO.

Not at all man, it's just fantasy football, that's the fun part is the different ideas on what is better or worse. I think I was lucky to come away with AJ in the 3rd like I did. We'll see what happens soon enough!

Your draft wasn't bad. I agree with everyone else that your 1st pick should have been WR or RB, not QB. Our Fantasy Insights League draft was just held. 14 teams. 3 team keeper league. I had Hasselbeck the year before, put him back in the draft, kept 2 RBs and a WR, and was still able to draft Hass again in the 7th round. By that time I had 3 RBs, 2 WRs, and what I had rated as the #2 TE.

I agree with Buckeye about trading Michael Turner. I doubt I would ever start him above the 3 you have, so you're keeping him on your bench for....?? Improve a position that you can start seeing points from Week 1. You took him too early if you weren't thinking about trading him. He was only worth that high of a pick if you owned LT. Just my opinion, though.
