Miami could go Jake Long and probably fill a bigger need. With that being said, Taylor won't be around forever and Chris Long will be a nice replacement when he is gone, and a great complimentry player while he is still playing.

With Chris Long gone, Jake Long is the obvious pick here. The offensive line last year may have been the worst in football with all the injuries. adding Long to play opposite Pace will make the line look very good again.

I like Jake Long going to either of those teams.

I think its pretty much a lock that it goes Long-Long at 1-2, and could go either way. The Rams need help at both spots so should be expected to take whoever Miami doesn't.

As to the Falcons taking Dorsey, I just don't think they can pass on a QB in round 1. With the Vick situation a recent memory and the team without anyone capable of playing the position, they can't afford to wait a round for someone like a Flacco to be there.

On the surface, a move like that makes sense. However, can the organization afford to wait until round 2, draft a QB, and have him fail? I don't think so - particularly if Ryan ends up successful elsewhere. They pretty much have to take the QB and their chances in round one. If it doesn't work out, I think they can will be forgiven much quicker than passing on him...

What???? It worked out so well for the Dolphins last year passing on Quinn. Roll Eyes Mad

I think they take Ryan here as well, but Dorsey is a strong pick. I have him as the #3 rated player overall.

I absolutely agree that Dorsey is a great player and if it weren't for need he is the pick. They may still go that direction, but if so whoever they do bring to QB them as a rookie had better work out.

As Glass said, Dorsey is the BPA. NFL teams don't always draft by need, esp. at the top of the draft, but instead go with best player available. It's why Minn took AP last year despite having a capable starter in Taylor. It's why NO took Bush 2 yrs ago despite having McAllister. It's why StL took S. Jackson despite having M. Faulk or KC taking LJ despite having Priest Holmes. Dorsey is easily the BPA. Matt Ryan may indeed turn out to be a franchise QB, but there are still plenty of questions about him. Dorsey, aside from health concerns which seem to have been mostly put to rest, is legit and everyone knows it.

Dorsey will be a game-changer and will pay huge dividends. Add that to the fact that a lot of Atlanta's offseason moves have been geared toward the run, and I just don't like Ryan here for them. With the 3rd pick of the 2nd round, they have a good shot at getting a QB they like as much or maybe even better than Ryan. Despite being rated as the top QB of THIS class, I don't think he grades out high enough to warrant passing on a guy like Dorsey just because their QB situation is up in the air.

I thought Dorsey would be here for Oakland, but Ellis is a solid pick as well. he will slip right in as the replacement for Sapp.

Would have been between Gholston and Ellis for me here, but I think Ellis would have been my pick too Big Grin

Btw, if one of the teams I'm mocking for is coming up soon and there is a player I like for them, am I allowed to trade to move up? Smile

While most should expect the Chiefs to go with a DL here (or possibly OL, though its a reach at this point), I am speculating that they will shock everyone by drafting McFadden.

Karl Pederson needs to hang onto his job, which his only real success has been Larry Johnson. He needs to make a huge splash this season and McFadden could be it.

LJ has ruffled enough feathers with the team and community that it would be in the best interest of the team to move him while his value is high enough. They can draft McFadden and trade LJ to move back into early round 1 and add a much needed OL.

I like the theory behind Skip's pick. Moving LJ for that price could be tough. But there are plenty of suitors for LJ. Detroit, Houston, Chicago, even NY Jets right behind them.

I would have figured someone would have my email from the FIKL to let me know this started.

There is no way they draft McFadden if Matt Ryan is still available. If both Jake Long and Ryan are gone, I still don't see them taking McFadden. Ideally in that situation they would trade down and draft an OL. If they can't trade down, they will probably still draft an OL even though it's a reach.

Did you pick Ellis for the Raiders? If not, who would you have picked?

OP I think I'd go Gholston or Ellis but I'm convinced the Raiders are going McFadden. I don't think they think Fargas or Bush are good enough to carry that position individually or together. If they have even a sliver of a clue that this guy could be another Adrian Peterson they'll sacrifice the DL for him in a heartbeat.

I find the scenario of McFadden falling to be more likely. And there isn't anyone in KC really clamouring for a QB. But Pederson's job is going to hang on this draft. With LJ on the outs, they need a name for their offense and are going to hope it is Ryan.

I agree with McFadden falling. The Raiders will trade down or draft a defensive player. I think Michael Bush will surprise a lot of people this year.
