With us in the month of July, it is time to start planning for the draft. Last year we started the draft the 3rd week of July and unless there are concerns we can keep the same time frame this season.

Keeper lists will be due on 7/18. That gives you two weeks from Friday. I sent out current rosters in a previous email. If you need another copy, let me know. I will post the declared keepers and draft order after I have them all in.

The official start of the draft will be Monday 7/21 at 9am EST / 8am CST, however it can start anytime after the keepers and order are posted. The draft will take place on the FIKL boards.

The result of the feedback regarding the order of the draft is that the order will remain the same. Thus the first two rounds will go worst-to-first from last season and then serpentine from there.

Just found out yesterday that I'm going to Vegas in a couple weeks, it's so new on me I haven't even booked the flight yet. I plan on being without internet from Saturday the 26th to Tuesday the 29th. If we need to start the draft right away I can either find a replacement or supply a list. LMK

How about we get it rolling on Friday as soon as all of the keepers are in.

I will also be gone (Vegas coincidentally) from the 24th thru the 29th. I planned on making a list to give someone. So it doesnt really matter to me.

Speaking as someone who has 5 children born in the month of August and been criticized time and again for the births conflicting with draft dates, I get the opportunity to be critical. Smile

Plan your trips better.

Well, obviously. I think you guys are taking me a little too seriously. I could have gotten on you about your choice to go to Vegas, but you already know my opinion on that. Wink Have fun.

I think you just haven't been to Vegas with the right people, Skip. A FIDO group outing might be just what you need one day to change your opinion Wink

I don't gamble. I don't so much as even buy scratch offs or play the lotto. I spent $20 on our honeymoon on slot machines on the cruise ship.

The closest I have gotten is playing some Texas Hold'em on facebook, but that's not involving cash. I wanted to better understand the game relative to the card games I do play (pinochle, euchre, spades...).
