Eric Moulds is the player in question.

The Duff Man is FOR E. Moulds being a valuable fantasy WR this season
Kabzilla is AGAINST E. Moulds being a valuable fantasy WR this season

Do your best to convince us your side is the right one.

Moulds will have a great year. Last year he was considered top 5, even with the deep "threat" Price going to Atlanta.

So what happened? A lot of things, the worst of which was a groin injury.
Imagine trying to play WR with a groin injury....good luck. Look at the
numbers before the injury, he averaged 6 catches and 91 yrds a game over 5 games. The only downside was 1 TD, but by week 3 the Bills had already started their coaching and QB problems.

The Bills had QB issues....What happened to Bledsoe last year? His
confidence was gone. He looked lost in the pocket in some games. He held on to the ball too long instead of trying to make a play that he has the talent to make....because he lacked the confidence to make it. Buffalo's line isn't horrendous...but he got sacked 49 times because he was indecisive with the ball. A new coaching staff and a better system should help with this. Bringing in Losman will help Bledsoe too. Twice recently he has been faced with the fact that his team doesn't think he can cut it anymore. Look at how he responded.

The first time was in 2001, he was injured and Brady took the starting job.
Bledsoe only got action once more that year, in a pressure cooker playoff game. He threw for over 100 yards and the games only score in a 24-17. The Pats cut him loose but in his first year with the Bills he put up top quarterback numbers, more than 4300 yards! Now that the team has brought in Losman as the heir apparent I look for Bledsoe to start next year on fire. His pride will over-ride any mental problems lingering from last year. I don't like Bledsoe as a long term option at QB, but I do expect him to play well this year.

Bledsoe is key to Mould's year. Who do you think will get the lion's share of the numbers in the Bills passing game? Reed couldn't cut it, the 3rd WR Shaw obviously isn't the answer, and it will take time for Lee to get used to the NFL. A resurgence for Bledsoe points to huge numbers for Moulds.

The coaching staff was a problem last year, they were incredibly awful and should have been axed during their bye week. Instead they survived the year,
and dragged down the fantasy value of every Bill in the second half. During one three game stretch of the season they were committed to calling a pass play on 3rd down with 1 yard to go, and they used it unsuccessfully at least 4 times (going off memory, can’t find this stat). Truly unbelievable bad play calling.

This year's staff should be different, I see them using Moulds similar to
how Ward is used in Pittsburgh. They are similar players, they have similarly immoble quarterbacks and neither team is going to try to get the ball deep down the field. The offensive systems in both cities could be similar this year, and if Moulds gets Ward type numbers he will be a great value pick.

That brings me to the last reason he will be valuable, he'll be under-rated.
It happens every year, the young "sexy" picks at WR go bust (Burress) while the guy everyone figures is over the hill continues to put up solid numbers (Rice a few years ago, McCardell last year)

Sit back and let others draft Koren Robinson, Andre Johnson, Steve Smith and
Chris Chambers. You can pick up Moulds a round later and he'll give you equivalent or better numbers.

Now that's VALUE!

Moulds is an aging reciever in a brand new offense on a team that has several question marks.

First and foremost, is the quarterback position. Bledsoe is over the hill and simply does not have enough left to right a shaky Bills offense. He's a classic pocket passer who'll get the ball to his man if he's got enough time. The trouble is that he won't have enough time. The Bills offensive line is largely unchanged from last year. Last year, the offensive line surrendered 49 sacks and Bledsoe's play was affected because of it. Bledsoe often could not find his second and third reads and took the sack rather than throw the ball away. That does not look to change this season.

Second, we have the matter of Moulds' groin. Groin injuries have a tendency to linger. Just ask Fred Taylor. Jerome Bettis has a similar injury two years ago and was never the same player. What's worse, Moulds played through the injury. The only way to heal a groin is to give it plenty of rest, and by playing on it last season, Moulds only served to hurt his fantasy prospects this season.

Finally, we have an offense in transition. Mularkey certainly accomplished alot in Pittsburgh, but he is unproven as a head coach and sure to experience his share of pitfalls. While this offense could turn some heads in a few years, its too optimistic to think that Mularkey instantly transforms the Bills into a high powered crew capable of producing fantasy starters.

Hampered by a bad offense and an injured groin, Moulds doesn't look to return to the form that made him a top five reciever.

I'm not concerned about his age, as I stated there are always old guys who get overlooked and then go on to be valuable fantasy
receivers. Bledsoe is actually not that old either. I didn't see last season as a "Kurt Warner" meltdown for Bledsoe,
I saw it as a mental problem. Compare Drew to a guy like Favre...what do you see? To me Drew looks like he lacks the passion
to win, but the talent is there.

The scenario was as bad as it could be in Buffalo last year. Bad coaching...and the whole team knew it. Your star veteran
receiver pulls his groin and can't play well and you find out your young rising star has a case of the dropsies. If you lack
passion, which I think Drew does, this kind of situation sure isn't going to light a fire under you.

Put under the gun I think he'll respond with a good year, his pride will drive him to it knowing that Losman is around to
take his place if he falters.

I don't think the line is that bad, the new coaching staff should be able to come up with ways to get protection. Last year
teams knew the Bills were a pass first offense, they passed on 54% of their plays (502 vrs 427 rushes). The new staff is committed to the run,
which will instantly help on passing downs because the Bills have a good enough running game that it needs to be respected.

Moulds did play on the injured groin last year, but most weeks he was held out of practice and was a game time decision, so
it's not like he was putting pressure on it all week long. It was only a slight groin tear, which was the reason he was
able to play at all, and it happened early last year, so it has been almost a full year for recovery.
