I just want to show you another draft that gian and I are in. Go ahead and critique it if you want. But it will show you just how different owners/leagues think.

QBs always go early in this league and this year was no exception.

Well this situation is a bit unique. As you may remember I told you the commish in this league isn't great, he's not horrible either. Gian had posted on the messenger board before the NFL draft questions about when the league's draft was. The rules said one thing and the league calendar said another. No answer came until a week before the league's draft and it came via email. The commish didn't respond to the post. That team is co-owned, well one of the owners got the email and assumed his partner, who did the drafting, did too but he didn't. He either took his email addy off or failed to change it.

So basically he didn't realize the draft had started and there is a 12 hour time limit on picks so he timed out. It was a failure on many levels. At first he wanted the draft restarted due to lack of info until his partner told him he had received the draft info.

This is why I encourage all of you to keep your emails current and to turn notifications on. That way you should realize when you aren't getting emails. As he should have.

This also why I harrass you guys to log into the site at least once a week in the offseason. It may be the offseason but you may miss something important by being inactive. I will inform the league either by email or on the message board but I am not your mama and I will only inform you once. Big boys deserve to be treated like big boys.

Now if you're talking about taking Nelson there, yeah, I think that was too early too.

Yeah, both. A compound error. I think knowing the explanation makes it even worse. Co-owners and still failed. I hope they're in yours or Gian's division.

the groundswell comes from gian and I and it is useless so we gave up. Maybe the guy who timed out might be on our side now too.

Well, in this league it won't happen. Gian and I are in the same division and in the playoffs, division plays against division until one team from each of the two divisions is left for the Super Bowl. But gian and I have played in the division title game the last two years when he came into the league.
