I know we're all busy this time of year with our drafts, but I am very excited about college football. Of course, that tends to happen when your team is the popular No. 1 pick and your players are on the covers of the national magazines.

I can't really pick my team to finish No. 1 as that just seems like an easy homer pick. But, I can't really pick against them either. So, I will refrain from picking the two teams that I think will play in the BCS Championship game. (Hope that's not too lame since I'm starting the discussion).

But I would like to see who you guys (and Patricia!) think will play in Miami in January '09 for the BCS title.

If I had to rank teams objectively, I'd put the winner of the Ohio St/Southern Cal game against the winner of the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

I would also put Clemson up there, too. They are the best team in an abysmal conference, but if they run the table (they should be favored by 5+ in every game this season) they will probably merit a spot since they are from a conference with Miami, FSU and Va Tech, regardless of how those teams perform this season.

I'll have more thoughts, but I'm curious to see what people outside of the South think about how this season will shape up.

I wouldn't count out the loser of that game either. Barring a blowout, the loser should drop to no worse than 5th.

Do we really want to see Ohio St. back in to get beat up again???

S. Cal is overrated, as usual. Oklahoma is a great team, but Stoops seems to forget how to coach when he gets the bowl game.

I like Georgia alot, but they have to get through the brutal SEC.

Missouri will be right there again this year. If they can beat Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game, they will be there. I don't see any other team beating them. No team in Nig 12 North for sure. Texas will be there big game other than their opener this Saturday against Illini.

So. Cal gets by Ohio St., then I don't know if anybody else they play will beat them. PAC 10 is weak. I like Georgia and Florida in the SEC. One of those teams will be in the final game.

Clemson always seems to stumble against a team they shouldn't. I agree, if they get by that road block, they could have maybe the easiest path of any team other than Ohio St.
