In a 14 team, standard scoring (6 td rush/rec, 3 pass, 1pt 10 yards rush/rec).

I was working on a deal with a guy who has, McCallister, Ricky Williams, Faulk, and Ty Wheatly/Garner. Is Horn for Ricky a good offer? We can kick in picks for next year too(rookie and FA draft), would Horn and a #1 be good?

What about Horn for Duece?

My Team,
Griese
Couch
Beurelein
Frerotte

Bettis
Hambrick
Lamont Jordan
Buckhalter
Jamal Anderson
Josh Scobey
Marcel Shipp
Tellis Redmon

J. Morton
D. Alexander
Q. Morgan
J. McCairens
Donald Driver
Corey Bradford
Antonio Bryant
Cliff Russell

It's a great trade for you but I wouldn't go for it. Even with a draft pick I wouldn't do it. Now I'm not a Ricky fan by any means but giving up a RB in a 14 team league would be tough to do.

I'm assuming you have not had your rooie draft yet. If not where do you pick? Maybe going for Green or one of the other rookies would be a better choice.

Yep, we have. I was ninth. I tried to trade up but had no shot at any of the top RB's. I went with best value in round one, Jerramy Stevens(in my mind). I did bypass Chester Taylor in round 2, but even so, how much help would he have really been. I traded for Jamal Anderson last sesaon, and it looked like a good move until the other knee popped.

No offense, but your squad looks a little weak compared to a guy who's got McCallister, Williams, and Faulk.

You seem to lack solid players that can carry your squad when other players are being inconsistent. Horn is probably your best player.

If I were you, I'd try to keep Horn and try to offer up some of your other players to get R. Williams. If you can trade 3 mediocre players for one solid RB, go that route.

Don't go after McCallister if you decide to keep Horn, though. If something goes sour in New Orleans, all your eggs are in one basket.

Unless the other guy's #1 WR is Tai Streets, if you offer Horn for Williams straight up you might insult him so much he NEVER deals with you again. Horn for McAllister is more in line, but as stated in alarge league you'd be nuts to trade RB depth for anything less than a stud in return. You've got some good young WRs and might think about trying to move one or two of them to get Emmitt Smith (yes, i know he's only got a year or to at most left in his legs, but as yet he's still starting and you do have Hambrick who might not play much if Emmitt keeps on ticking) or Zereoue (since you have Bettis). These minor trades shouldn't cost too much and would at least assure you of starting spots at RB. Or you could try to move Brown since he is likely to have only a few years left, even if they are good ones. The only other position where you have any depth is TE and it would mean packaging a TE and a decent WR to get a second tier RB, because even your best WR, Horn, and your best TE wouldn't pry my fingers off Williams.

No offense taken here. I appreciate any insight. It appears very weak now, but at the time I traded for Jamal Anderson, I felt very good about it. Going into last season, I had Derrick Alexander coming off a career year with a pass happy coach, Joe Horn coming on, and a healthy Jamal. Plus I was counting on Buckhalter getting a little more playing time this season. I was in much better shape. Oh how quickly it runs sour huh? Good ideas on the Smith and Amos trades. I had actually thought of that before. That might be cheaper, and buy me some time until Lamont Jordan can get on the field. Thanks guys.

first of all...DO NOT OFFER 3 avg players for Williams...or he will never deal with you again. I hate when people offer bogus deals. Williams is very good and you are weak at RB. IF he is offering Williams for Horn and #1 next year...I would do it for sure. I would even think about Horn for Duece str8 up...but I like Horn a little bit more..but that is fair....but Williams should be a top 8 overall player this year. Most mock draft I see have him going about 5th.

On the 3 avg. players for good RB, you've got a point. You don't want to insult the guy. I think the trick would be to feel the other owner out and see if he's interested in any of your avg. players for some reason.

Last season, an owner offered me Ricky Watters for Jeff Graham (early in the season, before S. Alexander emerged). Totally out of the blue.

I also got Brett Favre for Kordell Stewart in '99, when Kordell was getting benched.

Point is that you never know who the other owner might be interested in, and you could walk away with a steal if you play it cool.

OK. I traded Johnny Morton for Amos Z. I know it is not a completely even trade, but I'm also not as high on Morton this season as most. So, now I'm working on Emmitt. We'll see what happens.

Amos is nice to have because you have the Bus...but you still do not have 2nd RB worth anything. Get someone that you know will be a starter and not split time. Of course with Morton gone....you only have 3 good WRs.....E Smith is good guy that you may be able to get cheap. The Cowboys know he is there to get the record...so they will not bench him. He will not put up great numbers put I he will play for sure. So maybe you can get him cheap.

Getting Amos will help and if can swing a deal for Emmitt you can struggle through this year. I'm not sold on Morton as KC's savior yet either. Jordan should be a very productive RB when his turn comes, keep him.
