Well, it's desperation time for this team. 4 weeks left to go before the playoffs and need to make a run and win at least 3 of 4. Already talked about this league with another trade on here...standard scoring, PPR (1 point per), start 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR.

Currently have:

RB: McGahee (now out for a couple weeks), Foster, Leon Washington
WR: Holt, A. Johnson, Fitzgerald, Driver, Furrey.

Offer was made of Shaun Alexander for Holt and took it. I know that nobody knows when SA is going to be back, but felt I needed to gamble and hope it's this week and take the trade before the news is out one way or the other. I was afraid if they say he's back this week the offer would be taken back. Obviously losing a top 3 WR, but with Fitzgerald and Furrey to take his place, feel like it's worth the shot.

Just curious what you all think and what you guys would have done? I know if SA doesn't come back for a couple more weeks then this likely means the end of the season for sure, but....

ah, roll the dice...what the heck. Of course, it depends on who else you could have gotten for Holt....hopefully you shopped him around.

Can't say I would have done that trade.

Coach Mike Holmgren admitted on his radio show Tuesday that Shaun Alexander will likely miss another game.

He hasn't seen the results of Alexander's most recent tests, but the "vibe" from doctors indicate Alexander will miss another game. "That's just the feeling I get," Holmgren said. We've got some bad vibes that Alexander won't return in time to save most of his fantasy owner's playoff hopes.

I think you gave up too much. If it was last year's version of SA coming back, I think it would be ok. But, he wasn't tearing it up before the injury.

I think you would have been better off trading Holt for a solid RB. You won't get a top 5 but you might have been able to land someone like Parker.

I was in a similar situation a few weeks ago in the same league format. Lots of WR's and only Gore at RB. I traded CJ for Parker to a guy 4 deep at RB and thin at WR. While it felt like I wasn't getting enough for my 1st pick, it obviously has worked out well the last 2 weeks for me (51+ points). I thoughtfully thank him for the trade a few times each Sunday.

I might have tried to trade Fitz, Driver, and Furrey for a solid RB and ride Holt and AJ the rest of the way. Those are three pretty good WR's for somebody who may have been RB heavy. I agree you had to do something, but I think you may be screwed now with the news about SA.

I tried any and all combos with those guys and no one was biting. No one team was particularly RB heavy so the teams with good RB's (top 10) had that 1 player and another decent RB (not worth trading for) and didn't want to part with their top guy. The offer was made to me for Holt and felt I needed to make something happen.

Even still, I can just hope SA comes back for week 11. The only change in my lineup will be Holt for Fitzgerald (when healthy) or Furrey (this week). May not be much of a difference in all actuality.
