Alright, I'm in a keeper league and I'm trying to wheel and deal for another running back or two. This year we keep 12 players, either 8 or 9 on offense, depending on how many individual defensive players you want to keep. Plus, you can only keep up to 4 players at each position, 4 rb's or 4 wr's. I'm looking to keep 1 QB (Garcia), 3 or 4 running backs, and 4 receivers. I have Priest and Eddie as my 2 backs now, and I have Horn, Boston, Porter, C. Johnson, D. Jackson, Q. Morgan, and J. Galloway as receivers.
I have two deals that I know I can do. Boston or Horn for T. Candidate and Porter for Buckhalter. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on the Porter for Buckhalter.
However, I really would like to have K. Barlow on my roster more than Candidate or Buckhalter. So, I'm thinking of offering Porter and his choice of Jackson, Morgan, or Galloway for Barlow or just Horn for Barlow (I think Stalworth is going to take quite a few balls from him this year). I imagine he would go for Horn for Barlow, but do you think he would do the 2 for 1 deal? Let me know. Thanks.
I wouldn't trade for Barlow. No one's even sure if he's gonna start or if he'll split with Hearst...especially not for Horn or Boston. These two guys will do better than all those RBs you mentioned. If you have to, Porter for Buckhalter or Candidate would be the better deal. I prefer Buckhalter since it looks like Duce has ruined his chances to play for Philly again.
First thing first...do not trade Boston or Horn for Canidate. Secondly, Porter for Buckhalter would be an o.k. trade but I would still be a little worried about what will happen when Staley gets to camp or if he does. Barlow is the safest bet even though he probally won't start the year but he should get a lot more carries then last year and play a bigger part in there offense. If he is the guy you want I think a Porter and either Jackson or Morgan for him would be a good deal for both teams. That way you can keep Garcia, Holmes, George, Barlow, Horn, Boston, C.Johnson, and either Jackson or Morgan. That gives you outstanding WR to start the year and a little more insurance at the RB spot.

I understand your wanting Barlow, especially in a keeper situation. However, Porter looks like a nice long term starter as well. Chad Johnson had a huge year, and is a little overrated I'm afraid. Could you do a quantity for quality deal, offering Chad Johnson and Darrel Jackson for Barlow? I'd like to know what the other owner has at WR, and just how desperate he is. Is Barlow his #3 or #4? You can't give up Horn or Boston for Barlow, because I'm assuming you'd like to win this year, and not just build for the future. Barlow will not be full time starter this year, Garrison is just too good blocking and protecting the suddenly fragile-looking Garcia. Possibly, this deal looks a little more tasty to the other owner if Johnson starts out hot, being the #1 in Cincy, and Barlow splits time (at best) with Hearst. Maybe the other guy is willing after week 1 or 2. Just a thought.

I think I hate all these deals....although I don't play many keeper leagues. Donte Stallworth still has to prove he can hold onto the ball with more regularity so I would not count Horn out of his usual production. Stallworth's value currently is as a change-up, home run threat...he still has to improve to be this year's Peerless Price.
I am not high on Candidate at all....ESPECIALLY in DC....I know it's a keeper, and he's still young...but he did not show me enough when he had chances in St. Louis and I think Spurrier is turning the Skins into a mockery. Trung's carrer may never recover
Buckhalter is intriquing, but Staley is still a factor, Buck is coming off a major injury and...most importantly..PORTER WILL BE THE NEXT STUD RECEIVER FOR THE RAIDERS OVER THE NEXT 8+ YEARS. The wheels have about come off of T. Brown and Rice does have to retire sometime. This year....Porter breaks out...next or the one after that, he's the man.
I like wanting to get Barlow, because that's going to happen.....just as soon as Barlow can show commitment to learning how to block
