This is going to be a long post, so I need a true Guru to stick in there and help me out... I posted this on a couple other boards without much luck because on the bigger boards people are too busy to read such a long post.. I usually get the best advice from this board anyway. so...
My trade deadling is this friday, my team is in 3rd place, going to make the playoffs, but I'm way behind the 1st place team in terms of talent.. My team looks like this: (Start 1): Hass, McNabb (Start 2): LJ, White, Chatman, Rudi (Start 3): Wayne, AJ, Ward, Evans, Henry (Start1): Gonzo, Davis (dropping him) My strategy heading into the deadline is to trade for the best starting lineup for the playoffs (taking into consideration matchups of course). I feel my biggest need is RB with LJ and Rudi hurt and Chatman with a rough playoff schedule (I plan on trading him). I was offered Lynch and Stallworth for Wayne. I'm not going to do it but since it was offered by the first place team, I'm using the offer as leverage to trade with the 2nd place team. I got him to offer me this: Jacobs and Burress or Boldin for Wayne Jacobs would greatly help my RB's but Plex and Boldin have injuries right now... Will they be better for the playoffs though?? I might also ask if he'd consider Housh (great playoff schedule) and Young for Wayne... Would this be better or no? If a trade with that team occurs (or even if it doesn't), I am going to pursue player from another team in my league... I am thinking of offering combonations of Evans, Ward, and Chatman for a combo of Colston, Fitz, and Maroney (fantastic playoff schedule)... I was thinking of offering the following trades listed in order of which I will start offering: Chatman, Ward, and Evans for Fitz and Maroney Ward and Evans for Fitz Chatman for Maroney Chatman and Ward/Evans for Maroney (if I have to) Chatman and Ward and Evans for Fitz (only if I get Jacobs) Fitz can be replaced with Colston in any of those deals... If all goes to plan, this would change my playoff RB's and WR's to... LJ, White, Jacobs, Maroney, Rudi Burress, AJ, Fitz, Henry Thoughts? Suggestions?? |

Confusing mess, but you tremendously improve your RB corps, and your WRs don't take too big a hit. Fitz or Colston is a tossup, I'd probably lean Fitz. I'd pull the trigger on this.

I would take Jacobs and Boldin in a heartbeat for Wayne considering your WR's and RB's. I would personally avoid Maroney because we really have no idea what kind of load he's going to get around playoff time. He's really not done much at all this year to have any confidence in him.
Out of your RB's, I think Chatman probably has the most value and I'd try and to hang onto him for sure. |

I'd take Jacobs/Plax for Wayne. Plax is only 15 points behind Wayne in my league and he's the only WR option on his team.

And I'd stay away from Boldin. He's playing hurt, running primarily short routes, and just isn't close to the #1 option on his team right now.

You definetly need a RB! Take the offer for Jacobs/Plex. Lynch is damaged goods, not a good trade at all.
After that...... I'd start with a straight up trade first, (Chatman for Maroney). It probably won't fly, but then you can throw in the combinations. I like the Chatman/ward/Evans trade for Fitz. If all goes as planned you end up losing Wayne/Chatman/Ward/Evens FOR Jacobs/Burress/Fitz. You RB core is upgraded without losing a step at WR. |
