He's gone over 20 points the past 3 weeks in PPR scoring, including at Tennessee in week 3, so he's produced against a good defense, and he's already beyond his BYE week which may or may not be a good thing. He has a limited sample set, and I haven't been able to watch a single Houston Texans game all season, so I really don't know what to expect going forward. In looking at his stats, it looks like his good rushing days were ones in which about half his yards came on one big run, in week 3 when he had a 50 yard rush and finished with 116, and week 5 when he had a 40 yard rush and ended with 93. The other two weeks he averaged 3.3 ypc on 13 and 10 carries. What I like is how involved he has been in the passing game, especially in week 4 when he caught 8 passes for 83 yards and a TD. If he can continue to catch 3-4 passes a game and run for about 4 ypc I think he is a valuable #2 RB the rest of the way.
I am concerned about the return of Ahman Green, and the proverbial rookie wall, especially with his BYE week coming so early in the season. He's not going to get a rest the rest of the way and I imagine he'll be gassed by the time fantasy playoffs roll around. What other runningbacks would you say he is comparable to going forward? A steady guy like Clinton Portis probably won't decline much come fantasy playoff time, but he had what will probably be his best scoring week last week in PPR, 23 points, and that's right around where Slaton has been each of the past 3 weeks. Marshawn Lynch is turning into a buy-low candidate as he scored in each of the first 3 weeks, but has shown that when he doesn't get in the endzone he doesn't put many fantasy points on the board: 76, 59, 83, 57, 55 rushing yards in 5 games. He is catching the ball a lot more and looks like he will get 3 per game the rest of the way, so that will help. Michael Turner has produced very well against DET, KC, and GB defenses, but not so good against TB and CAR defenses. He is looking like a predictable, all or nothing type of back based on who he is rushing against that week. Unfortunatly, he gets Tampa again in week 15, and at Minnesota in week 16. I'd predict a couple of 3.1 ypc games in those critical weeks. Anyway, just wanted to throw a few names out there to consider when trying to determine Slaton's trade value going forward. A RB for RB trade was just made in the Antsports league I'm in involving him and I'll share the details after I get some opinions. |

Ok well how far away from the top RBs do you think Slaton's value is? Who wins in a trade like Steve Slaton plus Calvin Johnson for Adrian Peterson?
Slaton is the top scoring RB over the past 3 weeks in PPR, just ahead of Reggie Bush. |

i have slayton too...i think ahman green will get hurt again, he always does...so i'm afraid to trade slayton. BUT--if you can get a top 3 rb like peterson, you would have to do it.

Would you consider Addai a top 3 back?
An owner dropped Slaton early in the season and I picked him up right away. Now that he has been producing, the original owner has been trying to get him back. He has offered Addai each time, but am not sure if I should. I currently own Marion Barber, Chris Johnson, Mewelde Moore, Jamaal Charles, and Slaton. I feel I am week at WR with Steve Smith, Calvin Johnson, Bernard Berrian, Braylon Edwards, and Rashied Davis. Although they have put up good number some weeks, all have been inconsistant. The best WR the other guy has is Marques Colston. This a pretty standard PPR league that requires us to start 3 WR and 2 RB. I am in first place right now, it helps that I also have Brees, Cutler and Cooley. This week the offer is Addai and Greg Camerillo for Slaton and Rashied Davis. Any thoughts? |

now the Green is hurt again, as predicted, Slaton's value is back up there. He's at least as valuable as Addai right now, as Indy simply can't run, period. I would not make that trade..in fact, your team looks very solid, including your WRs with Smith, CJ and Berrian.
