Brandon Spikes

Not sure how many of you have seen or heard about this, but what a joke that this guy is still going to play.

I am not going to sit here and justify what Blount did after the Oregon Boise St. game, but what he did I think was not as bad as this, and he has yet to play again this year.

Irvin Myers, the classy guy he is, has said he will suspend Spikes for the first half of their next game. What garbage. This guy does not need to see the field again. He was intentionally trying to hurt this kid. It can't be seen any other way.

At least Blount was provoked. The SEC is just as classless as the Florida coach here, saying they have reviewed the the play and agree with the punishment.

Oregon is one of the best teams in the country this year, and they had the guts to suspend their best RB for what was going to be a year. I thought that was a bit harsh, but it made a statement to the rest of the players. Florida obviously does not care about integrity.

I do have to say that is a pretty lame punishment for what he did. Should be out the rest of the year as far as I'm concerned, but then again I'm not a big Florida fan :P

As a Dawg, I'm biased here. The thing that bothers me the most is Tebow's comment, "[Spikes] didn't do anything they weren't doing." Rumor is that Ealey spit in Spikes' face to provoke that. Does that make a difference?

Didn't they suspend some kid for the season for lying about hanging out with Deion Sanders, which wasn't even against the rules, but this asshole gets 0.5 game suspension? o_O

That was the NCAA. We already know this is a criminal organization, so nothing suprises me with them.

I still can't get over a half game suspension. I have heard the arguments, it happens all the time, but if you listen the the players talking, that simply is not the case. I think the Blount suspension was way too much, and now this one is on the complete other end of the spectrum. He is laughing about missing a half against a team they are favored to beat by 33 points.

I also thought the Blount suspension was rediculous.

I find it funny that Meyer and the SEC thought a half was enough for Spikes, but then they fine Meyer 30 grand for complaining about a late hit that was not call. He has a pair to be able to complain about a questionable hit after what his player did.
