I was going through my notes from our RULES DISCUSSION back in January.

For your defensive scoring in the "points allowed" department...I like how you emphasized ONLY WHEN THE DEFENSE IS ON THE FIELD...meaning stupid QBs won't hurt their own team's Defense.

Now does this include the Special Teams? Meaning do KICK RETURNS FOR TDs, PUNT RETURNS FOR TDs, and FAKE FGs CONVERTED TO TDs count against the Defense?

Thanks in advance.

We have the same system in our league. When computing "points allowed" for DT scoring we only count those points scored against the defense by the offense. So any TDs scored when the standard offensive unit is on the field are the only TDs that count against the DT.
So in our league at least, the answer would be no. Those types of TDs would not count against a Team Defense.

Yep thats it...Our rule states that the OT has to be on the field in order to score Points against..ST/DT are one in the same...A Punt return does not count against the DT...because it is not a OT 'set' so to say...I also think I have a note saying add the wording 'kicker/punter' on the field...
