Despite tons of weapons and a healthy Faulk, Bulger stunk up the joint last night (tic) so what should Martz do?

Question:
Despite tons of weapons and a healthy Faulk, Bulger stunk up the joint last night (tic) so what should Martz do?

Choices:
Continue with his QB Bulger
Bench the bum! Start WARNER!
Scan the FA lines - sign Danny Wuerffel

baltimore played some very good D last night. what would warner have done differently except suffer a concussion and refuse to take himself out?

This is idiotic to even consider this. The Ravens have a tremendous defense, and I think that Bulger has earned the right to have a bad performance after the way he's played throughout the season. RuckinRuggers, are you really just Kurt Warner's wife posting?

The Rams won and Bulger didn't get hurt. Thats 2 things Warner hasn't done in a very long time.

Being in St. Louis, and having to watch the Rams every week, I will just say this. Good defenses that can rush a qb makes Bulger look below average. I am not saying Warner would do any better, but Bulger has looked bad against the better defenses.

Anybody that watched that game last night saw all the passes he did not even get close to his receivers. And that is an many tipped balls in one game that I have ever seen.

The Rams will make the playoffs and probably win the division as they have a much easier schedule the rest of the way than the Seahawks. But if I were a Rams fan, I would be worried about the playoffs.

Looks to me like somebody thought they had a win in the bag this week and lost. I agree that the Ravens played great defensively, and I had a feeling that people who were banking on Bulger and Holt this week would be disappointed.

If you are talking about me, that is not the case. If Holt would have had a normal week, I might have had the high score of the year.

Just simply stating what I have noticed. Good defenses give Bulger alot of trouble.

On a side note to that, is there ever a bad defense start in fantasy against the Ravens. That offense is pathetic.

I must say I really don't see the thinking here at all. Bulger's worst start before this week was 226 yards. I think the only tough part to swallow has been the INTs. But generally those have been offset by some TDs. Not this week, however. If this is the criteria by which players should be benched, then there are an awful lot of players at every position that should have been on the bench long before now.

I just thought I'd start a thread in parody to the one started on Warner. Wasn't it Week 1 Warner was pummeled like a Patrick Ramsey clone and fumbled 3-4 times? He did throw 300+ yards but everyone was saying this he was clearly overrated.

The Warner benching started about mid-way through last season when he went 0-6 while Bulger was 7-1 (or something like like)

All the Warner lovers were then talking all offseason how great he'd be this year now being healthy and on an on......

Then come week 1... Warner was the same crappy QB as he was last season. And that's what started it all over again.

As for Bulger, his worst game before this week this season was vs SF, 236 yds/2TDs. That being the best Defense he's faced (17th vs pass). And also had 374/TD vs Pitt (12th ranked).
So Balt is the only real "tough" D he's had to face this year. And CLE is the only other solid pass D he will have to face the rest of the year.
The Rams have very light schedule for the rest of the year. Bulger will do far better than average against these teams.
CHI,ARI,MIN,CLE,SEA,CIN,DET.

I ddefinitely don't think they should they bench Bulger. The book on the Rams is to bring the house and if teams get pressure on the QB things tend to fall apart. It's easier said than done, but as someone else pointed out, at least Bulger stood in there and ran the offense without getting himself killed and fumbling five times, which is what Warner had been reduced to in his last handful of starts.

Also good points about their incredibly soft schedule. They'll be back in the saddle next week.

I also agree that the Ravens offense is just atrocious. Take Jamal Lewis and Jonathon Ogden off the field and I think they could play an entire 16-game season without ever crossing midfield.

Wasn't referring to you Glassman. I just thought that with RuckinRugger's "tone" that maybe Bulger screwed him this week, and thus the poll.

I'm actually happy Bulger screwed up this week (although I do have Holt) - a guy I was tied in my division with lost 6 points for StL QT and lost his game Smile

Look for the "Offical Bench Brett Farve Thread" coming soon. Big Grin
